Rabies in the texts of Mesopotamian cultures: medical-historical analysis
Rabies is an infectious disease that has been known to humans for thousands of years. It was first mentioned in Mesopotamian sources. Rabies is mentioned in legal codes, private correspondences, medical literature and prophetic texts. It has been seen that dog bites are the cause of disease in humans and humans, and symptoms in both dogs and those bitten have been described. The result of being bitten by a rabid dog was described as death.
