Adenocarcinoma pituitary gland in European cat
The article presents a case of pituitary adenocarcinoma in a twelve-year old female European cat. This tumor derived from secretary cells of the distalis region of the pituitary gland. Large multiple neoplasm cells were divided by a band of connective tissue. Neoplasm-areas of typical solidum constitution were also observed. Neoplastic cells have various shapes and sizes, pycnotic, round and oval nucleus with one or two peripheral located nucleoli and have dispersed, granular cytoplasm staining with eosin. The neoplasm was characterized by a high mitotic activity and multiple mitotic figures. The pituitary adenocarcinoma spread to intra-cerebella metastases.
